Southwest Virginia Voices of Public Health:

A COVID-19 Oral History Project

Ellie with microphone.jpg

Friends of Southwest Virginia Medical Reserve Corps is embarking on an oral history project to document events which transpired during the COVID-19 global pandemic. This project will involve in-person interviews with SWVA MRC volunteers and, initially, staff of the Mount Rogers Health District. Local experiences, stories, and lessons learned are important to the history of Southwest Virginia. Once completed, these interviews will be made available to the public. If there are local citizens who were provided direct COVID-19 services from local health departments (ie: testing, contact tracing support, vaccinations, etc.), they are invited to participate by submitting the Contact Form.

Let’s make sure the history of how Southwest Virginia navigated a global pandemic includes public health and volunteerism!
